Krush! Armenian Wine Imports is excited to announce the release of Hin Areni’s first Grand Reserve, The 2017 Hin Areni La Divine by Didier Cornillon. La Divine is made from 100% Estate grown Areni grapes.

For Winemaker Didier Cornillon, 2017 was always had the potential to be a special year. As he supervised the harvest, he set aside the best parcels from his favorite Areni vineyards and fermented them separately from the other lots designated to go into the 2017 Areni Reserve. He continued to follow the wine as it aged in oak barrels. When it came time to bottle the 2017 Reserve Areni, the decision was made to keep the best lots in barrel for another 18 months and to bottle them separately as the Estate’s first Grand Reserve. In 2022 Hin Areni picked the name “La Divine” for this unique cuvee.

The 2017 is a dark crimson color, lightening to violet at the rim. The nose opens to sweet vanilla oak complemented by herbal/floral elements. Sweet cherry fruit and a nice acidic backbone on the palate. As the wine opens, the oak continues to frame the pomegranate and cranberry fruit flavors. Perfect for drinking now, this wine should continue to evolve for another 7-10 years.
