Voskevaz Karasi Collection Voskehat 2016
The Voskevaz Karasi Collection contains some of Armenia's best and most innovative wines. Combining ancient and modern, the Karasi Collection wines are whole-cluster fermented in massive clay amphora (Karasi) then aged in Artsakh oak barrels. This technique produces highly aromatic and complex wines.
The Voskehat wine is made from 60 year-old Voskehat vines situated at 5,250 feet above sea level in the Vayots Dzor Province. Fermented in giant amphora with minimal intervention, after fermentation the wine gets 6 months aging in Caucasian oak before bottling.
This wine won a Silver Medal at the Decanter Magazine 2017 World Wine Awards and was awarded 90 points in Wine & Spirits Magazine's June 2019 Focus on Armenian Wine.
The 2016 Voskehat has a pale yellow color with melon and light vanilla oak tones on the nose. There are crisp, tart yellow fruits (peach, pear, quince) on the palate with a long, smooth finish. A perfectly balanced wine.
Try with seafood or chicken dishes.
