Old Bridge Reserve Areni Noir 2015
Old Bridge stopped making non-Reserve wines in 2010, preferring to sell off the grapes not considered good enough for the winery's signature Areni Reserve. The wine is fermented in steel tanks and aged in Armenian oak barrels for 2 years.
The 2015 Old Bridge Reserve Areni has a full-bodied dark red color. The nose reveals aromas of various wild flowers and tart cherry notes. On the palate, dark cherry and cranberry fruit are complimented by a smoky, gamy character with pronounced coffee, leather and tobacco. Well balanced between silky tannins and high acidity, the wine ends with a captivating long pleasant finish.
This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2019 Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Awards in Neustadt Germany.
Try with roast chicken or duck, roast pork or short ribs.
