Tushpa Red Wine Haghtanak 2018
Tushpa's vineyards are in the scenic Ararat Valley. The ground is typically very fertile and the Tushpa makes concerted efforts to control the yields of it's Haghtanak and Kangun grapes to maximize the flavors of these two varieties Tushpa Red is made from Estate grown Haghtanak Grapes, fermented in steel tanks and aged 7 months in Caucasian Oak barrels.
The 2018 fourth vintage of its Haghtanak, the wine is deep purple to the rim. As it opens up, black fruit and herbal dominate the nose. On the palate the blackberry and plum combine with vanilla oak flavors. A medium bodied, tannic, well balanced wine.
Pairs well with flavorful dishes. Try with grilled meats, burgers or pizza.

Grape Blend: 100% Estate grown Haghtanak (an indigenous Armenian Red grape variety). Average elevation of 600 meters, clay soils.
Winemaker: Mihran Manassarian
Fermentation: Fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks using wild yeasts. Secondary malolactic fermentation in Armenian oak barrels.
Wood Aging: 7 months in Armenian oak (100% used barrels).
Residual Sugar: 0.93 Acidity: pH 3.6
Alcohol Level: 13.0%
Quantity Produced: 1,500 cases
